As usual there was great excitement at Halloween as ghosts and witches paraded through the school. And the children were great too!

Our P3 & 4 children entertained the residents from Nazareth House to some good Halloween fun! Don’t the teachers look better when they are dressed up?

New Library Club Launch

Our new library opened officially on Monday 26th October. The club will run every Monday and Thursday from 3 until 3.30. It is open to everyone from P4 upwards. We also hope to have a section for parents to swop their own books.

Our launch proved to be such a resounding success. It was amazing how many parents turned up with their little monsters. It was a bit like the miracle of the loaves and fishes only we used fresh cream and aple cake. Hopefully the children will continue to make good use of the library, and remember parents… there is a book exchange there for you as well!

Mrs Patricia Liesching from the Ulster Cancer Foundation visited our school and outlined ways that we might stay healthy. Her message was SAFE…. avoid Sunburn, breathe good Air (no smoking), each 5 portions of Fruit & Veg per day, and take regular exercise. She also told the children to Slip, Slap, Slop…. ask the children what this means. Patricia left some fundraising envelopes with the children… deadline 2 weeks.

The School Photographer will be in the school on Monday, 26th October 2009.  During the day he will take an individual photo of ALL pupils present.  This needs to be done this year in order to update our school records.  If you want a family photo taken (to include children NOT at the school i.e. a toddler or older sibling) this will be done first thing in the morning i.e. 8:30 am.  If you want a family photo taken of only your children who are all currently at the school, please make sure that one of your children’s class teachers is notified.

Sr Teresa

Sadly we are losing Sr Teresa who has been a Trustee representative on our Board of Governors. Sister has given many years of service to our school; sharing her expertise, calmness, energy and good sense with all of us. More importantly she has remained a very good friend to all of us and has been so kind and accommodating to the children.

Sister, good luck in Belfast and remember, the door is always open here for you.

Thank You!
