We are pleased to announce that, once again,  we have secured the services of Mrs Ann Mullan, who will visit our school, mostly on Friday mornings, up until March. Ann has lots of experience in helping children who may be having difficulties coping with a range of difficulties that life might throw at them. Children and families who experienced Ann’s work last year benefitted greatly from her guidance.

If you think your child would benefit from working with Ann, for whatever reason, please contact Mr. O’Hea.

Our P4 Children, along with Mrs McGill, Mr McDowell, Mrs Browne and Mr Nash, spent an informative, enjoyable day in Roe Valley, under the watchful eye of MrConway. In spite of inclement weather the children were able to get out and about searching for signs of Autumn. They must have had a very busy day as they were all half asleep by the time they got back to school!

A Bridge Too Far!

Auditions for our school choir will begin shortly. Being a member of our choir is a great experience and brings many accolades and rewards. It also challenges the children to make a substantial committment to match their talent; committment to attend practices and to give their time outside of school hours is essential. Xfactor beware!

Last year we thought we could never match our successful summer school, but believe it or not, I think this year was our best yet. 44 children had a ball despite the rotten weather. We made a few changes this year and they proved to be a big hit. Thank you to Mrs Higgins, Mrs McDevitt, Mrs McGill, Miss Harkin, Mrs Dalzell, Mrs Devine, Mrs Ennis, Miss O’Brien, Michael, Darren & Aiden. A very big thankyou to all the weans! They were so lovely to work with; a real pleasure. They drew admiring comments everywhere we took them. They were a credit to their families and to our school. In fact, they were so good, the staff want to work without pay next year!!!!

Latest News in our After School Care initiative.

Our plans have been passed by the Extended Schools steering group and our after school care has begun. Mrs McNamee assisted by Mrs Dalzell and Mrs Devine will be providing the care. Children from P1 tp P7 may attend. The cost is £15 per week. We also have the option for daily attendance.

Children will get a healthy snack and will have access to outdoor play, computers, wii, art & craft, library, TV/DVD and an array of board games.

So far we have begun well. There are still a few places available. Contact school for application forms. We have nailed our sails to the mast here and need opur parents continued support in order to sustain this worthwhile enterprise.
